Another Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone has reportedly exploded while it was being charged overnight. The charger used was an original Samsung model.
An employee from one of the major wireless carriers in the US told PhoneArena that a customer came into the store, where he works, with an S7 Edge device that caught fire.
Samsung decided to end the production and sales of the S7 Edge after several cases of the device exploding were reported in the news media.The owner claims he received the handset about two weeks ago, which he exchanged with the Note 7 that is no more in production now.
All major wireless carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile in the US recently announced that would let consumers exchange their replacement S7 Edge units for any other device.
The owner of the latest S7 Edge to allegedly explode claims he was sleeping at the time of the incident, and said the phone was plugged into its original charger.
Another S7 user, Daniel Ramirez, has filed a lawsuit against Samsung at the Superior Court of New Jersey. Ramirez said his S7 Edge caught fire in his pocket, while he was working at construction project in an Amazon bookstore in Ohio on 30 May.
The lawsuit states Ramirez purchased the phone from Best Buy in March. As a result of the fire, Ramirez suffered second and third-degree burns.
